D-Street Buzz: Pharma stocks shine led by Aurobindo Pharma; Airtel jumps 3%, Cof

Benchmark indices including the Nifty and Sensex are trading on a positive note with Sensex up 127 points at 37,814 while the Nifty50 added 32 points at 11,221.

At 11:00 hrs, Nifty Pharma is the outperforming sector, adding over a percent led by Aurobindo Pharma, Glenmark Pharma, Lupin, Sun Pharma, Divis Labs, Dr Reddy's Labs and Cadila Healthcare.

Brokerage firms maintained their rating on Dr Reddy’s Laboratories after the company reported a 45 percent year-on-year rise in net profit to Rs 662 crore for the June quarter.

From the IT space, the top gainers are Mindtree, Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys and HCL Tech.

Nifty Infra is also trading in the green, the top gainers are Bharti Airtel which jumped 3 percent followed by CG Power, Larsen & Toubro and Voltas.

Auto stocks continue to slide with Ashok Leyland, Bosch, Hero Moto, Motherson Sumi Systems, TVS Motor, Bajaj Auto and Bharat Forge.

However, PSU Banks are trading on a weak note. The top losers are IDBI Bank, Punjab National Bank, Bank of Baroda, Bank of India and Canara Bank.

India VIX shed 1.38 percent and is trading at 12.88 levels.

The top gainers from NSE include Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, Larsen & Toubro, Indiabulls Housing Finance and Sun Pharma while the top losers are Bharti Infratel, Hero MotoCorp, Grasim Industries, YES Bank and Vedanta.

The most active stocks are Indiabulls Housing Finance, RBL Bank, ICICI Bank, YES Bank and IndusInd Bank.

318 stocks have hit 52-week low on BSE including Coffee Day Enterprises, Vodafone Idea, RBL Bank, Persistent Systems, Bombay Burmah, IDBI Bank, Bank of India, Ashok Leyland, Tata Power, Bosch, NBCC, Bharat Forge, Hindustan Copper, Godrej Consumer, Tata Steel, GE T&D India, TVS Motor, Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki and Bajaj Corp among others.

569 stocks advanced and 1053 declined while 467 remained unchanged on the NSE. On the BSE, 727 stocks advanced, 1222 declined and 110 remained unchanged.
